Yesterday evening while I was finding ways of entertaining my nearly two years old daughter, she decided; much to my joy that she wanted to read a book. Yes, she has her very own collection of books and she chose to read her little alphabet book titled "I like abc".
Here in Egypt this was one of the very first books we bought her. Thinking it would be a typical alphabet book we opened it to read. A is for Apple I expected it to say but this is what was written instead;
A is for Alligator...
What a great way to introduce the predator into my daughters life. My earliest memories of the beast was a friendly one " see you later alligator".
Even worse was the letter B ...

B is for Burger ...
Can you believe it, I wonder why the obesity problem is on the rise. I remember now why I hadn't seen the book for a while. Not all of it was bad but I really don't think M is for mushroom at that age. Yes I can do O is for Orange but S ... S is for Sandwich?! I think the one responsible for the book (Mansoor Marican) was hungry at the time of its make. It doesn't stop there as W is for watermelon! HA!
Next time you are in a shop PLEASE have a look in the children's books section and let me know what A is for ....
